January 18, 2024. South County Unit meeting – Discussion with Sister Cora Rose about legal aid

issues for low–income/unhoused individuals in Curry County. 2 to 3:30 pm  The Public

Library in Brookings. This will be a hybrid meeting (Zoom and in-person)

January 26, 2024. Central County Unit Meeting at the Landing, Gold Beach, 4 -5 pm.

February 1, 2024. A documentary film about Oregon’s land use planning system co-sponsored by

the LWVCC, Kalmiopsis Audubon Society, and Curry Public Library. Shown at 5 pm at the

Curry Public Library, Gold Beach. Admission Free. Tell your friends!

March 7, 2024. Panel Discussion on Services Provided to Unhoused and Food Insecure

Individuals in Curry County – All unit meeting and open to the public.

The location is the Curry Public Library in Gold Beach.  Time – 2:00 PM to 3:30 PM

The forums feature candidates running in contested races for the November general election. It’s LWVCC practice to invite candidates for state office and county-wide office to all forums. The format is a moderated Q&A, with questions from audience members.

Forum #1 – Port Orford

When: Wednesday, October 5th, from 7:00 to 9:00 pm
Where: Port Orford Public Library, 1421 Oregon Street, Port Orford
Who: Candidates for Port Orford City Council

NOTE: Due to scheduling conflicts and the League’s “empty chair” policy, there will be no candidates for state representative or county commissioner at this forum.

Forum #2 – Gold Beach

When: Thursday, October 6th, from 6:00 to 8:00 pm
Where: Curry Public Library, 94341 3rd Street, Gold Beach
Who: Candidates for:

  • State House Representative, District 1
  • Curry County Board of Commissioners, Position 1

Note: Due to scheduling conflicts and the League’s “empty chair” policy, there will be no Gold Beach City Council candidates at this forum.

When: Saturday, October 8th, from 5:00 to 7:00 pm
Where: Chetco Community Library, 405 Alder Street, Brookings
